Yes, well I had been eating a lot of shrimps, wondering at how perfectly crispy they were, tried different times to achieve the same result until I hit this. This recipe is actually gotten from an old cookbook ( while on my knowledge search) and it works like magic. So is a little shrimps secret I’m sharing with you today, hope you get to try it out.

160g of shrimps
A tablespoon sugar
A teaspoon baking soda/baking powder
A small bag of ice cubes
How to Achieve a Perfectly Crunchy shrimps
Break up your shrimps in a plate
Place enough water to cover the shrimps in a clean bowl
Add the sugar and baking soda. Stir –the addition of this makes it crunchy
Next, add the shrimps and pour the ice cubes on top
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes
Bring out the refrigerated shrimps, remove from the cold water and set aside on a plate.
Pour a little veg oil, sesame oil or peanut oil in a wok, allow heating up and place the shrimps in the oil
Fry on both side on medium- high heat. 1-2 minutes. Don’t overcook.
Serve alone or enjoy with your Chinese rice!
